Type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to their emissions and battery durability (Euro 7)
Decision
The European Parliament approved the provisional agreement on the report for a regulation on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to emissions and battery durability (Euro 7), recorded as adopted in P9_TA(2024)0153 and with P9_TA(2023)0394 also listed among texts adopted. The decision was taken by a majority of the votes cast, the rapporteur was Alexandr Vondra and the file was handled by the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety; debates and votes on the file are recorded for 08/11/2023, 09/11/2023 and 13/03/2024 and Parliament’s first reading was closed.
What Changes
The adopted text establishes new EU type-approval rules for motor vehicles and engines and for systems, components and separate technical units with respect to their emissions and battery durability under the Euro 7 framework and repeals Regulations (EC) No 715/2007 and (EC) No 595/2009.
