Methodology
How We Track Changes
Atlantic Trade monitors official sources to identify trade policy developments as they are published:
- EU Official Journal: Daily monitoring of regulations, directives, and implementing acts.
- National Gazettes: Official publications from Mercosur member states and key trading partners.
- WTO Documents: Notifications, dispute settlements, and trade policy reviews.
- Customs Authorities: Tariff schedule updates and enforcement notices.
How We Verify Information
All content is based on primary official sources. We:
- Link directly to official documents (gazettes, regulations, notices).
- Cite specific regulation numbers, document IDs, and publication dates.
- Note when information is preliminary or subject to change.
- Update content when new official information becomes available.
Content Types
We publish four types of content:
- News Update: Short, timely reports on newly published measures and policy changes.
- Explainer: Evergreen guides to trade policy concepts, procedures, and frameworks.
- Document Brief: Summaries of complex official publications with key takeaways.
- Case Watch: Tracking of trade defense investigations, disputes, and enforcement actions.
Confidence Levels
When appropriate, we indicate confidence in information:
- Official: Published in official gazette or from authoritative source.
- Preliminary: Based on draft documents or unofficial translations.
- Reported: Information from credible news sources pending official confirmation.
