Parliament adopts amendment to port State control directive
Decision
The European Parliament adopted the report A9-0419/2023 and a provisional agreement on the proposal to amend Directive 2009/16/EC on port State control, recorded as adopted in document P9_TA(2024)0201. The vote was taken in plenary on 10 April 2024 and carried by a majority of the votes cast.
What Changes
The adopted text implements amendments to Directive 2009/16/EC on port State control as set out in the Parliaments report on the Commission proposal COM(2023)0271 under procedure 2023/0165(COD). The report was prepared by the Committee on Transport and Tourism with Vera Tax as rapporteur and Parliaments first reading was thereby closed.
