Mobilisation of EGF for BelGaN redundancies (EGF/2025/001 BE/BelGaN)
Decision
The European Parliament adopted resolution P10_TA(2025)0220 on 8 October 2025 approving the Commission proposal and the decision annexed to the resolution (final act Decision (EU) 2025/2133) to mobilise the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for application EGF/2025/001 BE/BelGaN, agreeing that Belgium is entitled to a financial contribution of EUR 931,690.
What Changes
The contribution represents 85% of total eligible costs of EUR 1,096,107, covering personalised services (EUR 1,052,607) and preparatory, management and administrative activities (EUR 43,500); personalised services began on 8 August 2024 and are eligible for 24 months after the decision’s entry into force while administrative expenditure incurred from 31 July 2024 is eligible for 31 months after entry into force. The personalised measures include information sessions, outplacement, training and retraining, workplace training, job fairs, job‑search assistance, job‑scouting and job‑matching.
Who Is Affected
The measures target 417 workers made redundant at BelGaN in Provincie Oost‑Vlaanderen (NACE division 26, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products), with the Flemish employment services VDAB providing national pre‑financing and co‑funding.
