Foodstuffs for human consumption: amending certain 'breakfast' directives
Decision
Parliament adopted report A9-0385/2023 on the Commission proposal COM(2023)0201 under procedure 2023/0105(COD). The adopted texts are P9_TA(2023)0445 and P9_TA(2024)0193 and the vote is recorded in the minutes of 12.12.2023, item 7.2.
What Changes
The report amends Council Directive 2001/110/EC relating to honey, Directive 2001/112/EC relating to fruit juices and certain similar products, Directive 2001/113/EC relating to fruit jams, jellies and marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée, and Directive 2001/114/EC relating to certain partly or wholly dehydrated preserved milk for human consumption, as set out in COM(2023)0201.
Who Is Affected
The changes affect operators and products in the honey, fruit juice, jam and preserved milk sectors covered by those Council directives, and the report was presented by rapporteur Alexander Bernhuber with contributions from Commissioner Kadri Simson and MEP Daniel Buda.
