European Parliament resolution on the situation in Colombia after recent terrorist attacks

What Changes
The resolution strongly condemns the assassination of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay and the recent terrorist attacks, calls on Colombian authorities to investigate, arrest and prosecute those responsible and to reinforce protection for political candidates. It urges the EU, other international partners and regional organisations to support Colombia against the Cártel de los Soles, to strengthen sanctions including against named Venezuelan officials and to consider listing the cartel on the EU terrorist list, and instructs the Parliament’s President to forward the text to relevant international institutions and the Colombian Government.
