EU Parliament resolution condemns Iran's repression

Decision

The European Parliament adopted resolution P10_TA(2026)0046 on 12 February 2026 under procedure 2026/2612(RSP) (document RC-B10-0110/2026), condemning systemic oppression, inhumane detention conditions and arbitrary detentions by the Iranian regime.

What Changes

The resolution deplores arbitrary arrests, torture, extrajudicial killings and the death penalty, calls for the immediate abolition of the death penalty and the release of persons in arbitrary detention, and urges UN bodies to document atrocities and preserve evidence for accountability including referral to the ICC. It also calls on the Council and Member States to expand targeted sanctions, to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to those at risk and to support restoring internet access.
