EU Parliament adopts recommendation on EU‑China relations
Decision
The European Parliament adopted a draft recommendation on EU‑China relations that was tabled as report A9-0375/2023 by the Committee on Foreign Affairs with Hilde Vautmans as rapporteur. The text was adopted as P9_TA(2023)0469 under procedure 2023/2127(INI) by a majority of the votes cast at the Strasbourg sitting on 13 December 2023.
What Changes
The adopted document is a formal recommendation addressed to the Council and to the Vice‑President of the Commission / High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, setting out Parliament's positions on EU‑China relations. As a recommendation it presents Parliament’s policy preferences for consideration by those institutions.
