Amending the Directive on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes

The European Parliament, in plenary on 16 December 2025, closed its second reading, rejected an amendment and adopted the proposed act (P10_TA(2025)0318) following the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection recommendation; the file is document A10-0249/2025 under procedure 2023/0376(COD). The rapporteur was Laura Ballarín Cereza.
What Changes
The adopted directive amends Directive 2013/11/EU on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes and also amends Directives (EU) 2015/2302, (EU) 2019/2161 and (EU) 2020/1828 to address consequences of the discontinuation of the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform. The act implements legal and procedural adjustments linked to that discontinuation.
