The role of gas storage for securing gas supplies ahead of the winter season
Decision
The European Parliament adopted the provisional agreement P10_TA(2025)0140 on the report A10-0079/2025 and thereby closed its first reading of the proposal under procedure 2025/0051(COD), the adoption being carried by a majority of the votes cast; an initial vote on 8 May 2025 had been referred back to the committee under Rule 60(4) and a request to vote on the ESN Group amendments was rejected.
What Changes
The adopted text amends Regulation (EU) 2017/1938 as regards the role of gas storage for securing gas supplies ahead of the winter season, following the Commission proposal COM(2025)0099 and the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy report prepared by rapporteur Borys Budka.
