Temporary trade liberalisation measures for Moldova
Decision
The European Parliament adopted a report approving the Commission proposal for a regulation on temporary trade‑liberalisation measures for Moldova and approved the Commission proposal by a single vote under P9_TA(2022)0273, thereby closing Parliament’s first reading; the document selected was A9-0201/2022 and the procedure reference is 2022/0188(COD). The vote required a simple majority and the item was taken in Strasbourg on Tuesday, 5 July 2022.
What Changes
The adopted regulation supplements the trade concessions applicable to Moldovan products under the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other part, implementing temporary trade‑liberalisation measures as set out in Commission proposal COM(2022)0288 and related references C9-0198/2022.
Who Is Affected
The measures affect Moldovan products and the parties to the Association Agreement, namely the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, and the Republic of Moldova, and were processed by the Parliament’s Committee on International Trade with rapporteur Markéta Gregorová.
