Temporary trade liberalisation measures for Moldova

Decision

The European Parliament adopted its position at first reading on 5 July 2022 (text adopted P9_TA(2022)0273) and instructed its President to forward that position to the Council, the Commission and the national parliaments. The position was adopted under the ordinary legislative procedure on a Commission proposal (COM(2022)0288) and procedure 2022/0188(COD).

What Changes

The adopted position sets out a Regulation on temporary trade-liberalisation measures supplementing trade concessions applicable to products from the Republic of Moldova under the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States and the Republic of Moldova. As an agreement was reached between Parliament and Council, Parliament's position corresponds to the final legislative act referred to as Regulation (EU) 2022/1279.

Who Is Affected

The measures affect products from the Republic of Moldova and the parties to the relevant Association Agreement, namely the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States.
