Temporary measures for Ukrainian driver documents
Decision
The European Parliament adopted its position at first reading on 7 July 2022 (P9_TA(2022)0294) on the Commission proposal COM(2022)0313 (procedure 2022/0204(COD)) under the ordinary legislative procedure. Parliament acted having regard to Articles 294(2) and 91 and Article 294(3) of the TFEU, after consulting the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions, and instructed its President to forward the position to the Council, the Commission and the national parliaments while calling on the Commission to refer the matter back if it substantially amends the proposal.
What Changes
Parliament set out a position for a regulation that lays down specific and temporary measures concerning driver documents issued by Ukraine in accordance with its legislation. An agreement was reached between Parliament and Council so that Parliament's position corresponds to the final legislative act identified as Regulation (EU) 2022/1280.
