Ro-ro passenger ships: stability requirements adopted
Decision
The plenary adopted a provisional agreement recorded as P9_TA(2023)0064 and thus closed Parliament’s first reading, following the report A9-0255/2022 prepared by the Committee on Transport and Tourism with rapporteur Roberts Zīle; the procedure is 2022/0036(COD) and a simple majority was required.
What Changes
The adopted text amends Directive 2003/25/EC to include improved stability requirements and to align those requirements with stability standards defined by the International Maritime Organisation, reflecting the Commission proposal COM(2022)0053.
