Position on temporary trade-liberalisation measures for products from the Republic of Moldova (first reading)

The European Parliament adopted at first reading a position on 5 July 2022 (document reference EP-PE_TC1-COD(2022)0188) with a view to the adoption of Regulation (EU) 2022/…. The position was submitted to establish temporary trade-liberalisation measures linked to the Association Agreement with the Republic of Moldova.
What Changes
The adopted text foresees temporary trade-liberalisation measures that supplement existing trade concessions applicable to products originating in the Republic of Moldova under the Association Agreement. Those measures are presented as temporary and as additional to the concessions already provided under the Agreement.
Who Is Affected
Directly affected are products from the Republic of Moldova and the parties to the Association Agreement, namely the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States and the Republic of Moldova.
