It also calls on the European Commission to prioritise Azerbaijan’s human rights record in EU relations and links the prospect of closer trade relations to the release of those unfairly imprisoned, while instructing the Parliament President to forward the resolution to EU institutions and Azerbaijani authorities.

Who Is Affected

The resolution directly concerns Dr Gubad Ibadoghlu and his relatives, the government and authorities of Azerbaijan, and EU institutions and Member State governments involved in relations with Azerbaijan.
