Parliament consents to implementation protocol for Kiribati fisheries pact
Decision
On 12 December 2023 in Strasbourg Parliament considered procedure 2023/0147(NLE) and, by a majority of the votes cast, approved the draft Council decision and adopted P9_TA(2023)0452 and A9-0380/2023; Parliament consented to the conclusion of the protocol.
What Changes
The adopted act gives the Union authorisation to conclude the Protocol on the implementation of the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Kiribati covering 2023–2028, as recommended by the Committee on Fisheries and rapporteur João Pimenta Lopes.
Who Is Affected
The decision directly involves the European Community on the one hand and the Republic of Kiribati on the other and concerns the implementation of their Fisheries Partnership Agreement for 2023–2028.
