Parliament approves State aid rules for rail and water transport
Decision
The European Parliament adopted a legislative resolution (P9_TA(2022)0432) of 13 December 2022 approving the Commission proposal COM(2022)0327 for a Council regulation on the application of Articles 93, 107 and 108 of the TFEU to certain categories of State aid; the text is linked to procedure 2022/0209(NLE) and report A9-0285/2022.
What Changes
Parliament approves the Commission’s proposed Council regulation that defines how those Articles of the TFEU apply to specific categories of State aid in the specified transport sectors, and it instructs its President to forward Parliament’s position to the Council and the Commission. Parliament also calls on the Council to notify it if it departs from the approved text and to consult Parliament again if it intends to substantially amend that text.
