Parliament adopts new Regulation on Construction Products
Decision
The European Parliament adopted a provisional agreement on the proposal for a Regulation on construction products, recorded as P9_TA(2024)0188, by a majority of the votes cast and thereby closed its first reading (PV 10/04/2024 - 21.13). The file stems from COM(2022)0144 and was reported by the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (rapporteur Christian Doleschal, A9-0207/2023).
What Changes
The adopted Regulation lays down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products, amends Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repeals Regulation (EU) 305/2011. The text follows the provisional agreement reached in the legislative procedure 2022/0094(COD).
Who Is Affected
The measures apply to the marketing of construction products and to entities and rules currently governed by Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and Regulation (EU) 305/2011.
