Mobilisation of the EGF for Germany — Goodyear 2

Decision

The European Parliament adopted a resolution of 8 October 2025 (P10_TA(2025)0219) approving the Commission proposal and the decision annexed to the resolution, and agrees that Germany is entitled to a financial contribution of EUR 3,085,166; the final act corresponds to Decision (EU) 2025/2135.

What Changes

The contribution represents 60% of total eligible costs of EUR 5,141,944, comprising EUR 4,936,274 for personalised services and EUR 205,670 for preparatory, management, information and publicity, control and reporting activities; personalised services began on 1 November 2024 and are eligible for funding until 24 months after the decision’s entry into force while administrative expenditure is eligible until 31 months after entry into force. The measures include upskilling, re-skilling, guidance and counselling, vocational orientation, business start-up support, job search assistance and digital skills training.

Who Is Affected

The measure targets workers displaced by the closure and partial shutdown of Goodyear production sites in Fulda and Hanau in the Kassel (DE73) and Darmstadt (DE71) regions, with 1,171 displacements reported and 915 targeted beneficiaries expected to participate.
