EU/Madagascar Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement and Implementing Protocol (2023–2027)
Decision
By legislative resolution of 9 November 2023 (P9_TA(2023)0393) the European Parliament gave its consent to the conclusion of the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Madagascar and the Implementing Protocol thereto, having regard to the draft Council decision (09525/2023), the draft agreement (09007/2023) and the request for consent (C9-0223/2023), and taking into account the opinions of the Committee on Development and the Committee on Budgets and the recommendation of the Committee on Fisheries (A9-0299/2023).
What Changes
Parliament’s consent authorises the conclusion of the agreement and Implementing Protocol for the period 2023–2027. Parliament also instructed its President to forward its position to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Republic of Madagascar.

The outcome directly concerns the European Union and the Republic of Madagascar and is communicated to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Republic of Madagascar.
