EP position to amend Directive 2003/25/EC on stability

The European Parliament adopted a position at first reading on 14 March 2023 (EP-PE_TC1-COD(2022)0036) with a view to the adoption of Directive (EU) 2023/... of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Directive 2003/25/EC. The text records the Parliament's formal position to proceed with that amending directive.
What Changes
The proposed amendment introduces improved stability requirements into Directive 2003/25/EC and aligns that directive with the stability requirements defined by the International Maritime Organization. The outcome therefore updates the legal text of Directive 2003/25/EC to reflect those enhanced and harmonised stability provisions.
