Directive amending ADR rules after discontinuation of the European ODR Platform
Decision
The European Parliament approved the Council position at first reading for the directive amending Directive 2013/11/EU and related instruments, recorded under 11778/1/2025 – C10‑0309/2025, and adopted the legislative resolution P10_TA(2025)0318. The IMCO committee adopted the recommendation on 4 December 2025 with a roll-call result showing 37 in favour, 0 against and 3 abstentions, and the resolution instructs the Presidents and Secretaries‑General to sign and arrange publication.
What Changes
The act amends Directive 2013/11/EU on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes and also amends Directives (EU) 2015/2302, (EU) 2019/2161 and (EU) 2020/1828 to reflect the discontinuation of the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform. The parliamentary file records that interinstitutional negotiations began on 20 February 2025, were concluded on 26 June 2025, and the text was confirmed by COREPER and endorsed by the IMCO Committee.
