Colombia lifts anti-dumping duties on EU frozen fries

Key development

Colombia revoked all anti-dumping duties on imports of EU frozen fries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands by Resolution 108 of 11 March 2026, restoring full market access to the 85% of EU frozen fries exports that had been affected.

Context

The repeal completes a six-year WTO dispute that began with duties imposed in 2018 and where a panel and MPIA arbitrators found Colombia's measures inconsistent in 2022; Colombia's first implementation attempt was also found WTO-inconsistent by a compliance panel on 23 October 2025.

Who is affected

EU exporters of frozen fries from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands regain market access and Colombian importers of frozen fries no longer face those duties; the value of EU exports concerned was approximately €19.3 million per year.

What to expect

The revocation constitutes full compliance under the MPIA and brings the dispute to a close; commercially, importers and exporters should see duties removed and previous sourcing and sales conditions restored, eliminating the compliance exposure tied to the measures.
