43rd EU‑Canada interparliamentary meeting in Ottawa and Halifax
Context
The 43rd EU‑Canada interparliamentary meeting took place in Ottawa on 27–28 October 2025 with participation from Members of the European Parliament and the Canadian Parliament. As is customary, the delegation programme included a provincial component with a day in Halifax visiting maritime hubs and meeting the Honourable Barbara Adams and the Honourable Danielle Barkhouse.

Delegates discussed key issues in EU‑Canada relations including trade, energy, security and defence cooperation, and the responsible governance of artificial intelligence. A joint statement was signed at the end of the IPM reaffirming the strong will to enhance the EU‑Canada partnership.
