Parliament approves EEA and Norwegian financial mechanisms 2021–2028

Parliament consented to the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway on an EEA Financial Mechanism for May 2021–April 2028, the Agreement on a Norwegian Financial Mechanism for the same period, and two Additional Protocols; the draft Council decision was approved as P10_TA(2025)0052 by a majority of votes cast.

The consent permits the formal conclusion and implementation of the multi-year financial mechanisms covering May 2021–April 2028 and thereby enables the envisaged funding arrangements between the parties; the adopted text does not specify direct operational measures for importers, exporters or compliance teams.
