Parliament adopts report on vocational training for Industry 4.0
Decision
The plenary adopted the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs' report (procedure 2022/2207(INI), document A9-0232/2023) with the adopted text recorded as P9_TA(2023)0271; the vote is recorded in the minutes of 11 July 2023 (item 8.22). The rapporteur for the report was Anna Zalewska.
What Changes
The adopted text frames vocational training as a tool for employees' success and as a building block for the EU economy in the context of the new Industry 4.0 and sets out the Parliament's position on this topic. The report was presented in plenary and discussed with interventions from Members including Stanislav Polčák, Ilana Cicurel and Sandra Pereira and a reply from Commissioner Nicolas Schmit.
